Welcome to the North Coast Redwoods District

The North Coast Redwoods District (NCRD) of California State Parks includes 55 percent of the remaining old-growth redwoods on the planet. With 22 park units across more than 130,000 acres that span Del Norte, Humboldt, and northern Mendocino Counties, the NCRD contains salmon-bearing rivers and streams, oak woodlands, coastal dune forests, lagoons, beaches, stunning old-growth redwood forests, and many more beautiful and wild places. Active stewardship and restoration is taking place on the lands and waters of the NCRD, which is conducted in partnership with and more and more led by local Tribes and Indigenous communities on whose ancestral homelands these parks exist.

Come to the North Coast and experience unparalleled recreational opportunities, diverse cultural and historical stories, and learn about the natural environments we steward in partnership with Tribes, the National Park Service, and local schools and nonprofits, including  our cooperating associations, the Redwood Parks Conservancy and Humboldt Redwoods Interpretive Association.
