K-9 Oz was born in the Netherlands on Dec. 24, 2020. Oz is assigned to the Gold Fields District, and works alongside his handler, State Park Peace Officer Supervisor (Ranger) Janessa Sederquist at the Auburn Sector. K-9 Oz is trained in handler protection, criminal apprehension, and is the first California State Parks K-9 to be trained in firearms and ammunition detection. Off duty, K-9 Oz lives with Officer Sederquist and her family. He loves a good game of tug-o-war and enjoys trail running.
