Swim Test

Who needs to take a swim test?
- First time Jr. Lifeguard Participants.
Who does NOT need to take a swim test?
- Returning Jr. Lifeguards DO NOT need to attend a swim test.
- Thoes who are on a swim team, water polo team, or have participated in an alternative Jr. Lifeguard program.
If you are on a Swim Team, Water Polo team, or have participated in another Junior Lifeguard program:
- Please email us with your 100 freestyle time and the team you participate on, along with the coaches contact information and we will waive your swim test.
- Please email us the Jr. Lifeguard Program you previoulsy attended and we will waive your swim test.
- All emails must be sent by the last testing date, failure to inform us will lead to being dropped from the program.

What do I do at the swim test?
A 100 yard swim (four lengths) under a maximum time limit.
Test Times:
9-11 years old- under 2:10
12-13 years old- under 2:00
14-16 years old- under 1:50
12-13 years old- under 2:00
14-16 years old- under 1:50
- You only need to attend one testing date.
- No reservation needed, show up at any time within the two hours.
- We aim to get you signed up and tested within 30 minutes.
- You will need to have your child show up at the pool with swim suits on ready to swim.
- Goggles are fine to wear, no swim fins allowed.
This is not a learn to swim program. For safety purposes, your child needs to be confident in the ocean and must pass a swim test. Please prepare your child before the test!
What If my child(s) does not pass the swim test?

If you do not complete a swim test, you will be refunded and dropped from the program.

There will be no retesting for any child who fails to meet the time reqirement.

We will not be allowing any make up swims for those who can not attend a swim.
