PERRIS — California State Parks invites the public to attend a meeting on Monday, June 1, for the General Plan of Lake Perris State Recreation Area (SRA). This is the first in a series of meetings that will provide the opportunity for community to learn about the planning process and share input that will help shape the park’s future.

The General Plan will serve as a critical document that will guide the management and improvement of the park’s recreation areas, facilities, and visitor services, while also ensuring its natural and cultural resources are protected. Lake Perris SRA spans more than 8,800 acres and is one of Southern California’s most popular outdoor destinations, offering boating, fishing, camping, hiking, and wildlife viewing.

“Lake Perris State Recreation Area is a place that inspires and connects us to nature,” said California State Parks Inland Empire District Superintendent Kelly Elliott. “Help us shape the future of the park by sharing your vision. We welcome all voices and look forward to hearing ideas and perspectives that will ensure the park remains a wonderful place for visitors for generations to come.”

Details of the first public meeting are below:

Date: Monday, June 1, 2026

Time: 4–7 p.m.

Location: Lakeside Pavilion (Adjacent to Parking Lot 10)
17801 Lake Perris Drive, Perris, 92571

The General Plan process is expected to take approximately three years to complete and will include preparation of an environmental impact report to evaluate potential environmental impacts associated with proposed actions.
