Lake Del Valle is located in Alameda County, about ten miles south of the City of Livermore in the Arroya del Valle. Del Valle Dam and Lake Del Valle are features of the South Bay Aqueduct, which is part of the State Water Project.
The 4,395 acres of land host a variety of recreation activitires including hiking, horseback riding, camping, and a five mile long lake with water-oriented recreation.
Collecting or destroying anything in the park, including mushrooms, is prohibited.
Location/Directions
The park is located on Del Valle Road off Mines Road.
- Exit I-580 at North Livermore Avenue. Head south through Livermore towards the wineries for about 1.5 miles. Turn right at Mines Road and continue straight for 7 miles. Mines Road becomes Del Valle Road. Be prepared to pay a parking fee at the kiosk.
- Exit I-580 at North Livermore Avenue. Head south on North Livermore Avenue, then turn right on Portola Avenue, then left on North L Street. North L Street becomes South L Street, then Arroyo Road. The Arroyo Road Staging Area is located on the left at the end of Arroyo Road, past the U.S. Veterans Administration Hospital and Sycamore Grove Park. No parking fee required.
