Notice of Availability of Draft EIR for public review to receive comments on the California Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR), Carnegie State Vehicular Recreation Area (SVRA) Resource Management Area (RMA) Program Draft EIR
Carnegie SVRA has existing designated RMAs within the park to actively manage the road and trail system in the hillside riding area through recontouring, erosion control, revegetation, and use control in order to meet the Soil Conservation Standard and regulatory requirements of stormwater runoff. The proposed project would 1) establish new RMAs throughout the hillside riding areas of the park and 2) undertake new specialized maintenance projects within established RMAs as part of ongoing efforts to manage soil erosion and the water quality of storm water runoff. These new activities would provide ongoing sustainable OHV recreation management through reducing trail density, increasing vegetation cover, creating sustainable trails, enforcing trails-only riding, rehabilitating damaged soil surfaces, and implementing soil loss and erosion control measures that disperse storm water runoff to prevent accelerated erosion.
Notice of Availability of Recirculated Draft EIR for public review to receive comment on the California Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR), Oceano Dunes District Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP) Recirculated Draft EIR
DPR has prepared an updated HCP to support its application for an incidental take permit (ITP) under the federal Endangered Species Act for park units managed by the Oceano Dunes District. The HCP covers 5,005 acres and will allow DPR to operate Oceano Dunes SVRA and Pismo SB in a manner that benefits numerous sensitive species while ensuring consistency with the Federal Endangered Species Act.
